EVENING ABOUT JINDŘICH CHALUPECKÝ Milena Slavická, Lenka Lindaurová, Ondřej Brody, Marek Meduna
The theorist, art critic, and curator Jindřich Chalupecký (1910-90) significantly contributed to shaping thoughts about Czech art. We believe that his personality is inspiring for today's situation in Czech art and culture in general. The lecture and film will attempt to present the views and personality of Jindřich Chalupecký in the broader context of the cultural scene in Czechoslovakia. Milena Slavická will speak, Lenka Lindaurová will screen her film, and Marek Meduna and Ondřej Brody, the authors of a radical performance regarding the legacy of J.H., will also be present.
The series of lectures at Café Sladkovský focuses on modern and contemporary art, architecture, public space, and significant personalities who lived/living in Vršovice. It will be complemented by video art evenings organized in collaboration with VVP AVU.
