Lectures

We invite you to a unique lecture concerning the digitization project of the Old Town Astronomical Clock. The lecture will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 18:00 in studio 505 (Karel-Šafařík). The Old Town Astronomical Clock in Prague is the oldest working astronomical clock in the world and a unique medieval technical monument.

Currently, a project is underway for its digitization, including the clock mechanism, astrolabe, and all other parts. Ing. David Knespl from the Historical Laboratory of the FEL CTU will present the technique and history of the Old Town Astronomical Clock. Ing. Jiří Kubiška and representatives from the creative studio ST.DIO will then talk about the digitization and future visualization, and they will also present other projects that their team has worked on.

If you are interested, there is also an opportunity to get involved in the project – more details at the lecture. We look forward to seeing you!
