Invitation to the 1st part of the international symposium Medium: Exhibition

We would like to invite you to the international symposium MEDIUM:EXHIBITION, Part 1: NEW CONCEPTS IN EXHIBITING ARCHITECTURE.
This is the first event of a multi-part project of international symposiums, interactive exhibitions, and workshops, highlighting developments in the field of exhibition design both domestically and abroad. More information about the entire project can be found in the attached press release.

What is the reason for exhibiting architecture? How should it be exhibited? Is Nicholas Olsberg right? Is it necessary to be provocative? What are the new concepts in exhibiting architecture?

We will attempt to find answers to all these questions and many more during the international symposium MEDIUM: EXHIBITION - New Concepts in Exhibiting Architecture. This is the first event of a multi-part project of international symposiums, interactive exhibitions, and workshops, highlighting developments in the field of exhibition design both domestically and abroad.

As part of MEDIUM:EXHIBITION, we will further explore not only current forms of art presentation in theory and practice but also the historical development of this medium. The second part of the project will be dedicated to the history and development of architecture presentation next year. The third symposium, complemented by an interactive exhibition, will focus on exhibiting in public space.
Exhibition is a multidimensional medium that connects various forms of objects and artifacts of the field and speaks through its architecture (spatial delineation, light, sound, objects, graphic material, etc.). Every exhibition is also a subjective form of interpretation of the presented work. Our goal is to closely examine the process in which the boundaries of individual (artistic) disciplines intersect: architecture, fine arts, curation, graphic design, and theory. The fourth international symposium will focus directly on the actors involved in exhibiting. What is their role in this process, how does their mutual collaboration take place? What is their work with artifacts? How do they visualize their ideas?

The goal of the entire project MEDIUM:EXHIBITION is to strengthen professional exchange among disciplines involved in exhibition creation, thereby provoking discussion among curators, architects, and other experts, as well as mapping the opinions of the wider public on this topic.
