Medium: Exhibition #3 Another City - Invitation

The exhibition is realized as part of the project Medium: Exhibition, which has chosen the issue of exhibiting architecture and the intertwining of traditionally perceived boundaries of architecture, visual arts, curating, graphic design, and theory as its subject of exploration.
It follows a joint workshop called Another City, conducted by students of the Environmental Studio led by Barbora Klímová (FaVU VUT Brno) and the Film and Video Studio led by Corinna Schnitt (HBK, Braunschweig), which took place in May 2013. The starting point of the joint work was reflections on architecture in the social space of the city and possibilities for artistic presentation.
During the autumn, these ideas were further developed in the works and activities of the students of the Environmental Studio. Thanks to the connection with the Vacant Central Europe project, the exploration includes mapping and thematizing abandoned and unused objects and locations in cities. The entire city becomes the exhibition space, and the exhibited objects are individual unused objects and locations.
Throughout the duration of the exhibition, accompanying events and artistic interventions will take place in various locations in Brno.
