Expert Forum – a unique format of professional debate on construction details – is launching for the first time in the Czech Republic under the auspices of an independent expert organization. The Passive House Center is coming up with a special series of events, where industry experts will delve deeply into specific issues related to the design and construction of passive houses. The goal of each planned discussion meeting is to discuss experiences with resolving a specific construction detail with the participation of architects and builders and to compare their solutions.
Experts who are already bored with conferences full of separate monologues should therefore pay attention. The event involves the participation of visitors, who can contribute in advance with specific drawings that the experts will discuss. The first Expert Forum will take place on April 15 in Prague, and the topic will be window installation in passive houses.
The creation of the Expert Forum responds to the long-term shortage of experts in the field of energy-efficient construction. “We want to create a counterpoint to the usual conferences, where individual contributions miss each other and everyone only talks about their own material or their products,” explained Jan Bárta, director of the Passive House Center, the reasons behind it. The issues that designers tackle on a daily basis are practically identical.
The Expert Forum will be a space for dialogue and inspiration. “We have managed to gather many top experts who have years of experience with the discussed problems. We believe that their mutual discussion about suitable solutions will significantly enrich not only them but all visitors as well,” added Bárta. The format of the event involves significant engagement from all participants. In addition to the on-site discussion, organizers allow registered participants to send project proposals in advance, which experts will consider.
The Expert Forum currently has two pilot sessions planned. After testing, the Passive House Center aims to announce further dates in the fall.
