Lectures

Architecture is not just about beautiful buildings, but also about the surrounding spaces that complement them and in which we move every day. This 6th cycle of lectures will be exceptional, as for the first time, garden architects will lecture at Faunapark. Colleagues who create quality parks, private gardens, or greenery around us.

Faunapark is the site of a former private garden of the Jewish family of industrialists Lansberger.
In the 1960s, when the area was part of the Slezan textile factory, one of the employees operated an amateur zoo here, which unfortunately faded away. The effort to revive it began in 2015 by the Faunapak association in Frýdek-Místek (https://www.zoofm.cz/), to which we, as architects, contributed by clearing out an abandoned barn that was one large dump inside and organized the first lectures with architects there, which repeated 4 times, and each time the audience could see the process of how the space is transforming for the better. Today, the barn has a new roof, a stage, an auditorium, audio facilities, and we hope that it will continue. In addition to the lectures, many other cultural events have taken place in the barn.

This year's edition will feature lectures from:

Tomáš Babka/Grupeto

Jakub Finger/Parteto

Ferdinand Leffler/Flera
