Girl's Castle (Bruntál Region) - The castle in Girl's Castle in the Bruntál region will be sold next year. The monument has been taken over from the Ministry of Health by the regional office of the Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters (ÚZSVM) in Opava. They want to offer the castle in a selection procedure, said ÚZSVM spokesman Radek Ležatka today.

In addition to the castle building, the complex includes a natural landscape park with the remains of two circular wells, a stone bridge, a perimeter wall with three bastions, a baroque granary, a former stable, and a brick two-storey building adapted for the caretaker's apartment. "This is former church property of the Sovereign Order of Malta, which did not assert its claim to it," said Ležatka.

The Girl's Castle was built on the site of a 13th-century castle. During World War II, it was significantly damaged during liberation actions, with roofs, rafters, and ceilings above the second floor burning down. It was repaired in the 1950s, when two towers were also added. Later, the castle became a warehouse for the national enterprise Health Supplies for Crisis Situations, which fell under the Ministry of Health.
