From the former ČST building on Jindřišská Street, a hotel is to be established

Prague - The former building of Czechoslovak Television (ČST) at Jindřišská Street 16 in Prague is set to become a hotel. Construction work will begin this year, with completion of the renovation planned for August 2008, said Prague 1 mayor Petr Hejma to reporters today.
    According to the city hall, the conversion of the building from a commercial structure to a hotel will improve traffic conditions in the area. "People will come here gradually throughout the day, and not all at the same time like to an administrative building," Hejma explained. According to him, the hotel will also help to enhance the appearance and raise the comfort of Jindřišská Street.
    The three- or four-star hotel is to have 140 rooms with 280 beds.
    The former ČST headquarters on Jindřišská Street is primarily associated by people with the address to which television viewers could long send their questions regarding broadcasts. The building dates back to 1870 and originally had three floors. In 1922, three additional stories were added. The building now belongs to J.H.Prague, a company engaged in real estate activities, engineering services, property management, and the mediation of trade and services.
