Ostrava - The representatives of the Moravian-Silesian Region decided today on the construction of a new integrated dispatch center in Třinec in the Frýdek-Místek area. The construction will cost approximately 275 million crowns, of which the majority of the costs will be covered by the European Union, said Deputy Governor Josef Babka (KSČM) to reporters today. However, the region expects that the final price of the construction could be reduced during the tender process. "The construction of the integrated dispatch center in Třinec, where regional professional firefighters, police officers, and Třinec municipal guards will work under one roof, arises from the urgent need to address the currently inadequate conditions for the operation of all three components of the integrated rescue system,” explained Babka. It is not excluded that paramedics will also be based in the building; the region is currently considering this possibility. According to the deputy, the dispatch center will help increase the safety of citizens not only directly within the territory of Třinec but also in its surroundings. "The center will be located in a strategic place, close to the city center, almost in sight of the main road leading to Slovakia,” added Babka. No later than the end of March, a public contract for construction work will be announced, which is expected to start in September of this year. Everything should be completed by the end of next year. "Dispatch centers and safety in general are among the priorities of the regional council,” noted Governor Miroslav Novák (ČSSD). The region will cover its fifteen percent share of the construction financing from last year's budget surplus. To pre-finance the project, it will use funds from a loan from Česká spořitelna. In the Moravian-Silesian Region, there are six integrated dispatch centers and one integrated safety center. Two more integrated dispatch centers are under construction. These centers function with components of the integrated rescue system under one roof. According to the region, the advantages of integrated centers include not only lower operating costs but also better communication, higher quality coordination of work, and time savings during the dispatch of individual rescue components.
