Liberec - An enormous entertainment science park iQLandia is opening in Liberec today. Covering an area of approximately 10,000 square meters, the park will offer ten exhibits and around 400 exhibits. Among the most interesting are the first humanoid robot in the Czech Republic named Thespian and a 3D planetarium with 50 seats in the roof dome. The public will welcome the new science center on Saturday. The science park has been built next to the entertainment center Babylon in Liberec, from the renovation of the dilapidated factory Desta. The construction of the complex, costing approximately 400 million crowns, was financed by the non-profit organization iQLandia (formerly Labyrint Bohemia), which obtained grants for the project from the Operational Program Research and Development for Innovations. The aim of the center is to promote research and development in the country and also technical and natural sciences. The Liberec entertainment science center is one of four projects being developed in the Czech Republic with the help of European funds. Today, the expanded science center Techmania in Plzeň is also reopening after reconstruction. In September, the Moravian center in Brno is expected to welcome its first visitors, and at the end of the year, they plan to open their Great World of Technology in Ostrava.
