Ostrava - A new manufacturing-administrative building for approximately 100 million crowns will be built in the center of Ostrava. It will replace a dilapidated manufacturing facility from the interwar period on Porážková Street. In addition to metalworking, the new building will include offices and, in the future, apartments. Construction will begin in the first half of the year and is expected to be completed next summer, as informed by the Ostrava company STAMONT-POZEMNÍ STAVITELSTVÍ, which will construct the building.
The four-story building will be constructed at the corner of Porážková and Roháčová streets after the existing unused structure is demolished. "It will be a monolithic reinforced concrete skeleton clad in glass, aluminum, and thermal plaster," specified the general director of the construction company, Jaromír Janečka. The basement of the building will provide parking spaces, while the ground floor will serve the metalworking concentrated in the courtyard of the new complex. Its upper floors will feature offices, shops, and apartments.
According to the company's commercial director, Jaroslav Hložek, the modern building will be integrated into the urban area where production, administrative, and residential construction converge. It will be located near the Nordica Ostrava administrative building that opened last February. "Building on a green field is more expensive and complicated, which is why we particularly value this contract,” Hložek added.
