Brno - The new town hall planned in the Brno-Útěchov district will cost almost 12 million crowns. The current one is no longer suitable. The new building will better meet hygiene and operational conditions for the performance of state administration and self-government, said Anna Dudková from the press department of the magistrate in a press release. Construction could start as early as this May and is expected to take a year.

The Brno council approved the investment plan for the construction of the facility on municipal land. "The existing town hall building no longer meets the standards necessary for the smooth operation of the office. For example, it is problematic to comply with some legal provisions related to the protection of personal data. Therefore, the municipal district deserves a completely new town hall that will be comfortable for both employees and citizens," said Brno Mayor Markéta Vaňková (ODS).

According to her, the leadership of Útěchov had previously had project documentation prepared from its own financial resources. "The proposed building should be single-story and will be built on land owned by the city," Vaňková added.

According to the plans, the new town hall in Útěchov should be located near Adamovská street, which runs through the center of the district. "The investment, with an expected price of 11.8 million crowns, includes not only the construction of the building but also connections to utility networks and the modification of surrounding areas. Sidewalks and parking spaces will be created here, for example. Currently, this land is practically unused," said investment councillor David Grund (ODS).

According to him, the land serves as a grassy area with an irregular landscape design. "Visitors who come to the town hall to deal with various matters will certainly appreciate its accessibility, better public transport access, and six new parking spaces directly at the building. One of them will also be reserved for people with reduced mobility," said Grund. The building will also have a green roof.
