Třešť announced a competition for the revitalization of the panel housing estate

Jihlava - Třešť in the Jihlava region has announced an architectural competition focused on the revitalization of public space in the Barvířská panel housing estate. The town hall expects that architects will propose modern modifications to streets, parking spaces, public greenery, and an information system. There are also plans for new playgrounds to be created in the area. The competition deadline will be in the middle of the year, deputy mayor Vladislav Hynk told reporters today.
    The author of the best proposal will receive a reward of 100,000 crowns. "Architects have free rein; we have not set any financial limits, they will only follow the assignment," Hynk said.
    The only panel housing estate in Třešť is 30 to 40 years old. The apartments in the four-story and eight-story panel buildings, where nearly one-fifth of Třešť's residents live, are in private and cooperative ownership. Owners are gradually renovating them individually.
    According to the deputy mayor, the reconstruction of the housing estate using European Union grants could start as early as next year.
