Lectures

The autumn part of the Architects' cycle on women in architecture will be closed by Danish architect Tina Saaby with a lecture on the topic "Copenhagen - A City for People" about the development and sustainability of urban friendliness.

Copenhagen's vision is to become the best city for living - a metropolis for people. One of the main architectural and urban development strategies in Copenhagen is livability. The official strategy for urban life in Copenhagen prioritizes life in the city over urban space and urban space over buildings. In the last ten years, great emphasis has been placed on the development of urban life in Copenhagen and on the human dimension, which is key to the development and sustainability of the city.

In her lecture, Tina Saaby will focus on citywide strategies and exemplary examples from Copenhagen. There will be a discussion on how the city facilitates the development process. Tina Saaby has been the architect of the city of Copenhagen since 2010. She inspires, supports, and advises politicians and city administration. She co-creates architectural directives and visions related to the document "The City of Copenhagen’s Architectural Policy."

The lecture will be held in English. After the lecture, there will be a discussion held in collaboration with the Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital City of Prague.
