Telč is starting to select a company for the transformation of the former ice rink area

Telč - Telč in the Jihlava region is beginning to select a company for the transformation of the area of the former ice rink, which is close to the historic center of the city. Currently, cars are parked on it. The city plans to convert the more than one-hectare area into a public park and a parking lot for 96 cars. Interested parties can submit bids for the contract with an estimated value of 81.8 million crowns excluding value-added tax by October 8. This is stated in the public procurement bulletin.

The city hall previously stated that it has a grant of 51.5 million crowns from the IROP program for the new development of the former ice rink. It is also preparing a temporary parking lot for visitors.

If everything goes well, the selected contractor is expected to take over the area of the former rink this year. This was confirmed to ČTK by Telč mayor Vladimír Brtník (ODS). The transformation of the site could then be completed by spring 2027. The city is preparing another temporary parking area for cars on Hradecká Street, which will be operational from this fall. It will initially accommodate over a hundred vehicles. In the long term, the city hall wants to create a permanent parking lot for 47 cars there.

A new ice rink was opened in Telč in 2015. Since then, the city leadership has held discussions with the public and experts about the use of the area of the former sports facility. It can be reached from Zachariáš z Hradce Square via a wooden bridge over the Ulický Pond.

The public park with lawns, relaxation areas with a water feature, a playground, and a natural amphitheater will occupy around 8000 square meters according to the bulletin on the site of the former rink. The parking lot for 96 cars will cover approximately 4000 square meters. The chosen contractor will also take care of the removal of the former rink's facilities and ensure the maintenance of plantings for three years. The contract also includes necessary repairs to the former stable near the rink, which will also open a safe passage from the new parking lot to the schools behind it.
