The Town Hall of Prague 8 is approaching the repair of the station with reservation

Prague - The Prague 8 municipal office, according to Mayor Josef Nosek, is taking a reserved stance on the reconstruction of the bus station at Florenc. The owner of the complex is preparing a gradual renovation, with the first part to be addressed this year being the dispatch hall. According to Nosek, the development of the entire area, including Masaryk Station, should be addressed. Currently, construction is generally prohibited there.
    "I can imagine, for example, that there will be an underground bus station and above it a multifunctional building. So it wouldn't just be a large parking lot where buses arrive, but rather a utilized area, as it is essentially in the center of Prague," the mayor said today to ČTK.
    A proposal for a change in the zoning plan is being prepared for Masaryk Station. The result should be a limitation of areas designated for the railway. There are considerations that the station could be moved closer to Prague 8, or entirely relocated to the Main Station.
    On the released spaces, new buildings with shops, apartments, and offices could be constructed. It would be possible to connect Opletalova Street with Na Florenci Street and Na Florenci Street with Pernerova Street, thereby linking the entire Karlín area to the center transport-wise. "Having two large train stations and a bus station within one kilometer of the absolute center of Prague, from Wenceslas Square, does not seem the most appropriate to me," Nosek noted.
    According to the building office of Prague 8, the owner already has permission for the new dispatch hall, but has now requested a change to it. They have also submitted a request for an exemption from the construction ban for the plan to cover the platforms and build terraces. The hall is to be temporary due to the construction ban.
