Prostějov - The Prostějov town hall is considering the construction of community houses for seniors, which would be financed with the help of European subsidies. The city has already identified two locations and has started planning work, said Deputy Mayor Zdeněk Fišer (ČSSD) to reporters today. According to the subsidy conditions, community houses for seniors can have at least ten and at most twenty-five residential units. The floor area of an apartment must not exceed 45 square meters. Shared spaces for residents of the house and the availability of field social services are also required. The Department of Development and Investments of the city hall recommended two locations to the council, which are suitable for the construction of these houses. "These are places in the city center, namely Knihařská and Partyzánská streets. The city council approved the start of work on the studies. Project documentation must be prepared for the action, and a valid building permit must be issued, which are submitted with the application for the subsidy," Fišer, the Deputy Mayor, stated. An old house on Knihařská street could be converted into a home for seniors, and on Partyzánská street, the town hall is considering the construction of a new building. According to Fišer, the city allocated 200,000 crowns from the city council's reserve for the commencement of planning work. For the construction of one apartment, the city can obtain a subsidy of 650,000 crowns from the housing support program announced by the Ministry for Regional Development. The total subsidy for one project can amount to a maximum of 13.5 million crowns.
