OLOMOUC - The Olomouc City Hall has recently announced a public tender for a company that will complete the construction of the extensive Little Prince Park in the Úzké Díly housing estate this year. The final stage of the project is estimated to cost up to seven million crowns. The city hall began the construction of the park 11 years ago. Vice-Mayor Miroslav Petřík told ČTK today that in the final stage of the park's construction, circular pathways with lighting and a relaxation zone will be created in the area. "Inside the park, a meadow for casual seating and additional areas that can be expanded with more attractions and play elements in the future will be built," the vice-mayor added. According to him, the city hall will accept bids from companies until February 27. The task of the winning company will be to complete the park between August and the end of November. The city hall started the construction project for the Little Prince Park 11 years ago as part of the regeneration of panel housing estates. In the area, sports fields, greenery, and a sandbox have already been built, for example. The completion of the park has been postponed several times by the city. According to city hall representatives, the reasons were the floods in 1997, as well as new regulations addressing the certification of safety features in children's playgrounds. The Úzké Díly housing estate, colloquially known as Mačkalov, is one of the most populous in Olomouc. The local buildings date back to the 1960s. The city hall has already helped the residents of the housing estate with parking solutions and improving the transportation system among the panel buildings.
