CITY ON DEMAND // a workshop for the production of urban furniture by the association 3*2*1*0 as part of the festival CITY ON DEMAND // 18/9 - 20/9/2012 Třída Míru, Pardubice / festival CITY ON DEMAND
A workshop for the production of urban furniture led by architects from the association 3*2*1*0 (3*2*1*0 is a civic association focused on public participation in the creation of public spaces): Michal Mačuda, Lea Hawerland, Jaroslav Sedlák as part of CITY ON DEMAND, a festival working with public space. For 3 days, a series of workshops, lectures, discussions, performances, and other activities centered around the theme of public space, culture, and architecture will take place in the pedestrian zone in the center of Pardubice.
A minimal amount of materials and all necessary tools for successful assembly will be provided on-site. Each day will involve collecting materials (in the morning), designing the furniture, followed by assembly (in the afternoon), launching it into public space, and taking photographs (in the evening). We anticipate a maximum participation of about 10 people per day and the construction of 3-4 pieces of furniture (working in groups). This program will repeat each day. Participation is possible throughout the period, as well as for selected days only. However, the maximum number of participants per day is 10 individuals. The aim of the workshop is to create mobile urban furniture of unique design from materials found around the venue, bringing new, fresh functions to public space. Playfulness and creativity are essential. If you have something that you feel is missing in public spaces, bring it with you, and together we will enrich Třída Míru. We will help out-of-town participants find affordable and comfortable accommodation!
