The Luhačovice train station is renovated

Luhačovice (Zlínsko) - The railway station building in Luhačovice has regained its original historical appearance. Czech Railways (ČD) has recently completed an eight-month reconstruction, and passengers and employees should start using the facility as early as next month. ČTK was informed about this by ČD spokesman Ondřej Kubala. Repairs of train stations in the region should continue, as the railways are now preparing to renovate several more.
    The railway station building in Luhačovice was constructed back in 1905, but the last major reconstruction took place in the 1960s.
    This year, builders repaired the external shell of the building as well as the passenger areas, and they also changed the interior. "Inside the facility, we modified the internal layout so that, in addition to the operational rooms of Czech Railways and the facilities for passengers, a new commercial space was also created," described Gabriel Jursa, Director of Property Management at ČD in Olomouc. According to him, the changes should mainly bring greater comfort and a better range of services for passengers.
    The builders also restored decorative elements on the station building's facade to ensure its appearance closely resembles the construction style of the time it was built.
    An extensive reconstruction, which will require an investment of several hundred million crowns, is currently underway at the railway station complex in Kroměříž. Construction work on the adjustment of tracks and passenger platforms began this year and is expected to continue until mid-next year.
    Before the end of this year, Czech Railways also plans to start repairs on the station building in Bojkovice in the Uherské Hradiště region. These repairs are expected to finish next year. Renovations are also being prepared for the train stations in Holešov and Bystřice pod Hostýnem in the Kroměříž area.
