Lipník nad Bečvou (Přerovsko) - The functionalist building in Lipník nad Bečvou in the Přerov region, which is declared a cultural monument, has undergone renovation. Workers have not only started repairing the building that houses the post office but also modifying its surroundings. The total costs will amount to 2.3 million crowns.
The semicircular post office building dates back to 1932. "In the functionalist style, there are only two buildings in Lipník, besides the post office, there is also the Wawerka villa, which has made it among the Famous villas of the Olomouc region as part of an exhibition at the Museum of Art in Olomouc. However, the villa is currently inaccessible," said the city hall spokesperson Magdalena Gladišová to ČTK.
During the renovation, the post office will receive not only a complete repair of the exterior wall plaster in the courtyard part of the building, including gables and the courtyard wall, but also insulation. In the courtyard part and in the passage, workers will replace all wooden windows, reinforce the courtyard area, and repair the passage.
The building on the edge of the historic core consists of two blocks. The larger one has a rounded corner, and the smaller one forms a right angle with the first.
The city received a grant from the Ministry of Culture for the renovation of the building amounting to over half a million crowns as part of the program for the regeneration of urban heritage reserves.
