Lectures

The Circle invites you to the autumn lecture series „Women Architects II“, featuring a number of outstanding Czech and foreign female architects who will present their projects and current trends in contemporary architecture.

Liesbeth van der Pol (*1959) is a Dutch architect who, together with Herman Zeinstra, leads the studio Dok Architecten. Liesbeth van der Pol asserts that architecture should speak for itself. It should be like a distinctive personality – vital, inspiring passion, fascinating, leaving certain impressions on us. Such architecture creates environments that support communication, satisfaction, and motivate users to achieve better results. A well-organized environment and an open atmosphere are essential for the architect even in her own studio, Dok Architecten, which she founded with her professional partner Herman Zeinstra. It consists of a team of specialists, each playing an important role. Liesbeth van der Pol also creates colored drawings of buildings, which determine character and expression. These drawings simultaneously serve as the signature of each project.

Liesbeth van der Pol (*1959) studied architecture at the Delft University of Technology. In 1995, she co-founded the studio Dok Architecten with Herman Zeinstra. Notable realizations include the WKK power plant in Utrecht and the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam. From 2008 to 2011, she served as a state architect at the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning. In the Netherlands, this position is taken very seriously, and it is expected that the architect will not only consult on policies for architecture and social housing but will also independently promote quality architecture. www.dokarchitecten.nl
