Kladno announced a tender for modifications to the summer stage, which will receive a roofing

Kladno - The councilors of Kladno approved the announcement of a tender for the modifications of the summer stage at the city theater, where a roof will be added. It should be completed by spring of next year. The costs will amount to around 25 million crowns excluding VAT, said Vít Heral, spokesman for the Kladno city hall, in response to a query from ČTK.

The management of the Kladno theater is already preparing the programming for the summer stage. "We plan to adapt some completed titles for outdoor performances and new productions are also being created with the idea of staging several outdoor reprises. We are discussing possible performances during the theater holidays, but we prefer the concept of a summer cinema. Other extra-theatrical activities – concerts and other events – will be part of the summer stage program, but considering its limited capacity," said Tomáš Hron, director of the Kladno Theatre Company.

The construction modifications will create a roof over the audience at the current summer stage of the theater, along with its new structure featuring installed seats and connecting stairways. A storage area will also be added, connecting to the theater building's exits. "The stage area will be newly moved to ground level," added Heral.

Plans also include adjustments to the paved areas, expansion of the access walkway, and a design for an elevated terrace with access via three staircases and a barrier-free walkway. The contract also includes audio and video equipment.
