Hradec Králové - Owners and managers of monuments in the Hradec Králové Region can apply for a grant for the reconstruction of monuments from the regional office until mid-February. This year, the region plans to allocate eight million crowns, and it aims to help with obtaining funds for the repair of monuments from European funds with the same amount. The spokesman for the region, Imrich Dioszegi, informed ČTK about this.

"The eight million crown support from the region for projects in the field of heritage conservation should constitute 15 percent of the total project costs. In total, the reconstruction of monuments with the support of the union could receive up to 53 million crowns," stated regional councilor Zdeněk Kraus. The region is now preparing a procedure under which owners of monuments will have the opportunity to apply for support from European funds.
The Hradec Králové Region allocated over 100 million crowns through grants for the restoration of monuments between 2003 and 2006. In June 2006, it distributed 15 million crowns among a hundred applicants in grants, with half a million crowns going, for example, to the static stabilization of the vault of St. Nicholas Church in Žíželevs on Hradec Králové. Last year, 184 applicants sought grants for the restoration of monuments in the region.
