Prague - The Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Active in Construction (ČKAIT) will have a new office director starting January 1. Radek Hnízdil (38) will take over, announced ČTK spokesperson Soňa Rafajová today. Thirty-eight-year-old Hnízdil will replace the current director Lenka Zimová, who is leaving at her own request. She has held the position since the establishment of ČKAIT in 1992. Hnízdil has been working at ČKAIT for 13 years, most recently heading the Information Technology Center at the ČKAIT Office. He was also the secretary of the chamber's board. He participated in the digitization of information systems intended for authorized engineers and technicians, especially the online accessibility of Czech technical standards, and the creation of the ČKAIT professional information system (PROFESIS). He completed his master's and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. The Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Active in Construction is a professional organization primarily responsible for overseeing the technical quality of construction sectors and specializations, protecting clients' interests in urban planning, design, and construction, assessing the effectiveness and safety of buildings, and collaborating on the preparation of proposals for legislation related to construction and its amendments. This public law professional organization has more than 29,000 authorized engineers and technicians as members. ČKAIT follows a professional organization that was established more than a hundred years ago in 1913 under the name Union of Czech Officially Authorized Civil Engineers in the Kingdom of Bohemia. The ČKAIT Office primarily ensures the expert, economic, and administrative activities of the chamber. Its tasks also include disseminating information to members and ensuring their further professional education.
