Český Brod – Český Brod in the Kolín region continues the renovation of the hospital complex. After nearly completing the demolition of the long-delayed former polyclinic building, it is preparing the reconstruction of part of the neighboring building, Building B, where new offices will be established among other things. At the same time, the city will begin replacing most of the windows in the main hospital building in the coming weeks. The estimated costs for both contracts are approximately 23 million crowns. Tomáš Klinecký (Lepší Brod), the mayor, told ČTK.
The demolition of the unfinished polyclinic is almost finished, and a parking lot for the hospital complex will be created on the cleared land. "For now, it will be low-cost; the surface will be compacted recycled material, on which we will delineate parking spaces. In the future, we plan to build proper parking areas for visitors and employees," said Klinecký.
The city is currently selecting a contractor for the reconstruction of Building B, the so-called yellow polyclinic, with expected costs around 20 million crowns. The work will include new engineering network installations, replacement of windows and doors, roof insulation, installation of a personal elevator, and complete interior modifications on the first floor and in the attic. Four offices with nursing stations, a waiting room for patients, facilities, and an apartment will be created. "We believe that all these steps will improve the environment of the historical hospital buildings, which date from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries," added the mayor.
The city rents out buildings in the hospital complex to several tenants. The largest portion is utilized by the Český Brod Hospital, operated by the Medireco company, which has beds for follow-up care and outpatient clinics. Last year, the city sold the G building to the company; the remaining properties are owned by the city. In addition to healthcare providers, the extensive hospital complex also houses a primary school pavilion, a school cafeteria, a pedagogical and psychological counseling office, and there is a garden used as a public park.
