Čeladná (Frýdek-Místek) - Čeladná in Frýdek-Místek today ceremoniously launched the construction of a new town hall. The building, costing 35 million crowns, will fill the last vacant area in the square of the two-thousand-inhabitant municipality. The building, featuring a tower and a view of the Beskydy panorama, will be a multifunctional object that will offer, among other things, administrative offices, health services, and apartments. The completion of the construction is planned for the summer of next year, the representatives of the town hall and the development and contracting company told the media. "In the administrative part, there will be offices, one floor is designated for doctors' practices. In a separate part of the building, there will be 13 apartments. The ground floor will have non-residential spaces, where a pharmacy is expected to be located, as well as other commercial and non-residential units,” said Jakub Bernady, project manager of Conti Real Čeladná, the company building the town hall. According to him, there is interest in new housing in the center of the municipality, as the company has already sold nine apartments. The new town hall, which is the final phase of the construction of the center of Čeladná, will be barrier-free, unlike the existing one. The municipality will sell the current town hall building to Conti Real Čeladná for 5.5 million crowns. The developer will again build new apartments there. Due to the construction of the square in previous years, Čeladná has become significantly indebted and is still among the most indebted municipalities in the region. However, according to Lukša, the municipality does not have a problem with that. "Čeladná currently owes 78 million crowns. We will pay it off by 2015, and we have not been late by a single day in repayments. The income we have from our activities fully covers the repayments of this loan,” he stated. According to him, the council has not yet decided how the municipality will obtain the 35 million crowns needed for the construction of the town hall. According to the representatives of the municipality, the investment plans do not end with the construction of the town hall. They plan a sports and recreational area at the site of the former swimming pool, which will offer social and cultural activities. "That is what some citizens are pointing out as missing in the municipality," said Deputy Mayor Věra Golová. The costs for the sports and social area are expected to reach one hundred million crowns, and the municipality aims to apply for European funds. Čeladná is also preparing an expansion of the cemetery, including the construction of a new funeral hall, which, according to Lukša, is an investment of about 16 million crowns. Interest in housing in Čeladná is increasing, according to Bernady. Conti Real Čeladná entered the market with apartments in Čeladná 3.5 years ago. So far, the company has completed 31 apartments there and sold a complex of 51 apartments during the last six months. At the turn of spring and summer next year, they are preparing to build another 120 apartments in seven villa houses. "There are more applicants from further away, from all over the country and foreigners. The selling price of an apartment in Čeladná is around 40,000 crowns per square meter, which is more than in Ostrava. The rent for a three-room apartment is about 900 euros (approximately 24,000 crowns) per month, which is comparable to Prague,” said a representative of Conti Real to the media.
