Brno – Brno can exchange land with the police, part of which it needs for the reconstruction of the railway junction. The councilors approved this today. The city property councilor Róbert Čuma (Pirates) told reporters that the city will pay the police about 24 million crowns.

After the exchange, the police will acquire the land on which they operate, but it is owned by the city. This concerns police facilities on Veveří Street and Malátova Street, as well as the Police Sports Club Kometa Brno on Bauerova Street.

In return, the city will acquire land on Pražákova Street, which it needs for the reconstruction of the railway junction, as well as a connecting road linking Pražákova with Výpravní Street and land on Renčova Street behind the area of the former military barracks in Řečkovice. According to Čuma, there is a plan in relation to Renčova Street to build a road that will connect Tereza Nováková Street with Renčova Street. "The properties owned by the city are valued at 22 million and the properties owned by the Regional Police Directorate are valued at 46 million, and the payment in favor of the police is 24 million," Čuma stated.

He reminded that the September council approved that the city could sell part of the Židenice barracks to the police for more than 100 million. The police plan to build a city directorate and a station for the surrounding city districts there and transfer part of the agendas there.
