Brno - At this year's international construction fairs in Brno, the main topics will be residential construction and panel buildings. Experts point out that a large portion of panel buildings in the Czech Republic is over 35 years old and is now awaiting extensive repairs. The fair will present both financing options for repairs and suitable materials, as well as other necessary information, said the fair manager Jana Ostrá to reporters today.
Organizers expect that the IBF construction fair, the SHK Brno technical equipment fair, and the Urbis Invest investment opportunities fair will be visited by around 100,000 people from April 22 to 26.
This year's fairs will cover a record area. Exhibitors will fill the entire complex, nearly 75,000 square meters, which is more than last year and in the comparable year of 2005. The main contribution to this is the complete participation of the construction machinery sector, which the fair focuses on once every three years. A total of 1,470 exhibitors from 24 countries will participate in the five-day event.
About a fifth of all exhibitors will come from abroad. "We are gradually increasing internationality, thanks in part to government agencies CzechInvest and CzechTrade as well as chambers of commerce," Ostrá described. The fairs specialize mainly in Slovakia, Poland, Russia, and other neighboring countries. Poles and Russians will have special seminars during the fair about opportunities for Czech entrepreneurs.
As usual, the fairs will feature professional competitions for craftsmen as well as competitions for exhibited exhibits. Visitors will also see, as in previous years, a special exhibition of flood protection measures. On Thursday, Czech mayors and primates will also meet in the Rotunda of Pavilion A for their congress.
