The Study and Information Center of VFU was opened on March 8, 2012.
Brno - A new building, named Pavilion of Pharmacy II, began construction last week on the premises of the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno. The project, costing nearly 120 million crowns, is expected to be completed by the end of October next year and will mainly serve students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Petr Chmelař, the university spokesperson, informed ČTK today.

The pavilion is located in the northern part of the complex, where the botanical garden has been relocated due to the construction. The new building is expected to serve students starting in 2015. "The Institute of Natural Medicines and the Institute of Applied Pharmacy will move into it, and one entire floor will be occupied by the newly created Institute of Molecular Biology and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, along with specialized laboratories," said Chmelař.
The project is primarily intended for students of the master's and doctoral programs, as well as academic staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy. "It will affect approximately 770 students," added Chmelař. The building, which will be entirely barrier-free, will also host part of the instruction for two other faculties - veterinary medicine and veterinary hygiene and ecology.
In recent years, the university has been significantly modernizing the entire campus in Královo Pole. Currently, it is reconstructing and completing the Center for Zoonotic Disease Diagnostics. In December, it opened a newly reconstructed building of the Orthopedic Center and a riding hall for horses, with the final appearance of the building corresponding to its look from the First Republic period, belonging to the original dragoon barracks.
