At the end of the year, many interesting things are happening around OMA. Their long-awaited double issue of El Croquis has been released. An even more awaited book about Lagos has gone to print. Time magazine published sixty heroes of today at the end of the year, where alongside Václav Havel is also Rem Koolhaas.
The most recent Koolhaas event we managed to find out about is the exhibition “OMA in Beijing“ at New York's MoMA. The exhibition showcases one of the most innovative buildings of today. The complex of two megastructures stands to the east of the Forbidden City. While the CCTV will be inaccessible to the general public, the TVCC (Television Cultural Center) is the exact opposite, which will include theaters, screening rooms, other cultural facilities, and a five-star hotel. OMA won the competition for CCTV/TVCC in 2002, construction began two years later, and the entire complex should be completed before the start of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Link>
