Hearst Tower by Norman Foster

It looked like America had turned its back on Norman Foster. A meeting with the Hearst Corporation was scheduled for September 12, 2001, to approve the expansion plan for their headquarters. For well-known reasons, the meeting had to be postponed, and the whole world began to view skyscrapers in a completely different light. In the competition for the new WTC, the public chose his design, but the contract was ultimately awarded to Daniel Libeskind. He also failed to push through with the renovation of the New York Philharmonic's headquarters. Now it finally seems that he has conquered the American continent with his work. He is involved in a five-billion-dollar redevelopment in downtown Las Vegas, has secured a contract for one of the WTC skyscrapers, and is currently completing the central headquarters of Hearst in New York.
