A year ago, Louis Vuitton opened its flagship store on the famous Champs Elysees. Around the same time, the American Center by Frank Gehry reopened in Paris. The aforementioned architect Gehry and the director of Vuitton presented a joint project for a modern art museum last fall, which they would like to build on the western edge of the Bologna Woods. Archiweb reported on this event on October 4, 2006. Today, several photos and a sketch of this project appeared on the arcspace website. The new museum will also serve as a gateway to the garden. From the entrance hall on the ground floor, one can pass into the garden or ascend to the museum. The central atrium is designed to be an active social space, within which there will be a café and an interactive documentation center. Exhibition spaces for hosting exhibitions, social events, and a lecture room for 340 people will adjoin the hall. Inside the museum, there will be a permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions. In addition to well-lit exhibition spaces, large glazed areas will also offer amazing views of the surroundings, thus creating an even stronger connection between the museum and the park. Link>
