The Czech Republic (represented by NGP) and Slovakia (SNG) have agreed, based on discussions held in 2023, that in light of the preparations for the reconstruction of the pavilion, it will not be usable for the presentation at the 2025 Biennale of Architecture. Both parties agreed that the main priority is to commence the first phase of the reconstruction and prepare the pavilion for a joint presentation in 2026.
Currently, preparatory works for the reconstruction are taking place in the pavilion, which is set to begin at the end of November 2025.
The National Gallery Prague receives regular funding from the Ministry of Culture for the operation of the pavilion. This funding is part of the regular annual operational budget. It is not a special grant. The National Gallery Prague is entitled to financial support for the implementation of the exhibition only if it takes place. We will apply for funding for the implementation of the exhibition again next year.
