Zlín - The Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín is preparing an exhibition dedicated to the Zlín builder Viktor Jandásek. CTK was informed about this today by the gallery spokesperson Marika Blažková. The exhibition will be opened on Tuesday in the Graphic Cabinet of the gallery, which is newly located in Building 14 of the former Baťa factory area.
Jandásek worked in Zlín until 1948, when his company was nationalized and integrated into Pozemní stavby Gottwaldov. "His company operated in the Přerov and Zlín regions and at the height of its development employed over 200 masons and six carpenters," the spokesperson said.
Jandásek was the author of the Trantírkova house, which became one of the most significant landmarks of Míru Square, designed the Lidmila department store, and the interior modifications of the Social House. He also built several villas in Zlín, as well as urban rental and family homes. "He is the author of three guesthouses above the spa swimming pool in Luhačovice, which he conceived in the spirit of poetic functionalism," said Blažková.
Visitors will be able to view documents and photographs of Jandásek's buildings. The exhibition will last until October 6.
The gallery has prepared the exhibition as part of a series of insights into its architecture collection. In addition to significant architects, they will gradually present builders who left significant structures in the territory of Zlín.
