MgA. Lukáš Orlita (1974) is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Brno University of Technology, where he studied in the painting studio under Prof. Jiří Načeradský from 1994 to 2000.
In his earlier work, he preferred precise painting of spatial compositions, which evolved from photorealistically painted bridge architectures to abstract geometric compositions created using 3D graphics.
The current figurative paintings of Lukáš Orlita represent a form of allegorical and archetypal exploration of man and his position in the world of desire, “reality,” and “fulfillment.” The author has been significantly inspired in his visual representations by the world of sci-fi, the world of cybernetic connections between living organisms and machines, which aim to improve human “imperfection” or eliminate “handicap.” This age-old human need is understood by the author not only as an expression of human desire for life ease or survival in a hostile environment in general but primarily as a desire for self-improvement.
