In the urban environment, we encounter richly decorated facades from the early 1860s until the early 20th century. With the advent of new construction technologies and materials, historicizing decoration became a common form of representation for investors and an architectural necessity. However, it was always the result of a dialogue between the builder and the constructor, which was shaped by the bodies of construction management. The exhibition, through several cases, presents in detail how the composition of the facade of a modern apartment building works with regard to building regulations and at the same time the ideas of all the involved actors. It often involved searching for compromises that shaped the very architectural expression itself.
