Prague - The exhibition Contemporary Czech Industrial starts today at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague, showcasing what the curators consider to be the most successful industrial buildings in the Czech Republic from recent years. Notable selections include a service center for truck and bus maintenance in Rousínov near Brno and a service center for cameras in Přerov.
The curators of the exhibition chose the best projects from dozens of manufacturing or administrative buildings across the Czech Republic. However, only 40 selected buildings made it to the exhibition space, which the organizers claim are "worthy successors to the quality and tradition of the First Republic". Although the presented buildings are purely functional, their architects and owners did not resign from aesthetics.
The exhibition is complemented by a catalog that presents not only the selected buildings themselves but also the history of industrial architecture in the past and the century before last.
Contemporary Czech Industrial will be at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery until January 22.
