In the ninth year of Designbloku, 158 creators will be featured

Prague - The journey of design is the main theme of the ninth edition of the modern design exhibition titled Designblok, which will take place in Prague from October 2 to 7. Exhibition studios will be created at sixty locations throughout Prague, where 158 Czech and foreign creators will present their works. Jiří Macek from the organizing agency Profi Media said this to journalists today.
Visitors will see furniture, glass, porcelain, photography, fashion clothing, jewelry, home accessories, and modern technologies, and will also get acquainted with the phenomenon of domestic art. "We are very pleased that Designblok brings together the history of design and its present, domestic art with futuristic creations," Macek stated.
The Superstudio Designblok, located in an old industrial hall in Prague's Karlín, serves as the base for this year's edition. Lectures, discussions, and fashion shows will take place here, and the organizers have placed a number of installations by leading world designers as well as students. "Visitors will not only see historical exhibitions but will also get familiar with the latest innovations in both Czech and world design," said Jana Zielinski from Profi Media to ČTK today.
The Milky Way project will showcase the most prominent young talents, including Austrian fashion designer Doris Zaiser, Slovak creator Radovan Martinčák, and emerging Swedish and Berlin artists. "I think it is very commendable that young designers can also present their work," Zaiser said.
The best of Czech work with glass, porcelain, and emotions will be presented in a project titled Fragile Architect by Maxim Velčovský. In recent years, domestic art has been receiving increasing attention from the professional public. During Designblok, visitors will become acquainted with a complete collection of folk design from the second half of the 20th century.
Exhibitions, lectures, and fashion shows will take place in several locations in Prague, including New Town, Old Town, Vinohrady, Holešovice, and Karlín.
