The young Viennese architects and Yo.V.A.3 are here

An exhibition titled "Young Viennese Architects - Yo.V.A.3" has been opened in Vienna. This project showcases 12 Viennese architectural creators, both individuals and studios, whose teams consist of authors with an average age of up to 45 years and who have at least one realization in Vienna. Their presented projects and realizations must demonstrate innovative and distinctive character. The expert jury, which selected 12 finalists from 39 submitted projects, was chaired by Professor Wolf D. Prix, the founder of the studio COOP HIMMELB(L)AU). The exhibition is traditionally accompanied by a series of lectures entitled "One Hundred Minutes of Architecture," where the participating architects present themselves.

The project called Yo.V.A. (Young Viennese Architects) was launched by Vienna's city councilor for urban development and transport, Ing. Rudolf Schicker, as part of the Vienna Year of Architecture 2005. Its aim is to support young Viennese creators in the field of architecture. This allows for the mapping of young personalities or entire groups that contribute to the vibrant architectural scene in Vienna. The first edition of the project, Yo.V.A. 1, visited Austrian and German cities. Yo.V.A.2 also traveled to the Czech Republic at the beginning of 2009. The Prague presentation was organized by the Vienna Contact Office Compress together with the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague. The project also visited Brno, Bratislava, Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Krakow. Yo.V.A. is held every two years.
The Vienna exhibition will run until September 26, 2010.
