The civic association WOMEN ARCHITECTS in cooperation with Creative Design Gallery invites all friends of architecture to the opening of the exhibition “I am a Woman Architect” - in(visible) Women Architects in Slovakia, which will take place on Thursday, 02.07.2015 at 18.00h. at Creative Design Gallery at Štefánikova 24 in Prešov.
The exhibition presents a selection of works by ten contemporary Slovak female architects active on both domestic and international stages, and follows the exhibition that took place in the Balass Palace at the Slovak Architects Association in August 2014. Their work is presented by Dana Čupková, Zuzana Dolobáčová, Gabriela Fukatschová, Michaela Hantabalová, Andrea Klimko, Ľubica Koreňová, Andrea Ambrovičová Mikulajová, Katarína Viskupičová, Tatiana Buijs Vítková, Edita Vráblová and continues with a selection of works by five female architects in the exhibition space of the Slovak Embassy in London on Kensington Street Gardens as part of Open House London: “I am a Woman Architect” - in(visible) Women Architects in Slovakia (selection), where Dana Čupková, Andrea Klimko, Ľubica Koreňová, Katarína Viskupičová, and Tatiana Buijs-Vítková presented their works.
The exhibition at Creative Design Gallery in Prešov will last from 02.07.2015 to 30.07.2015.
The event is under the patronage of the Slovak Chamber of Architects, the Slovak Architects Association, and the Faculty of Architecture STU.
The exhibition is organized by the professional civic association WOMEN ARCHITECTS, which aims to become a Central European platform for the support and presentation of female architects. The goal of the association is to present and support women in the architectural profession, exchange experiences between Slovak and foreign female architects, and map the ratio of women and men in architectural education and practice. The association was founded by Andrea Klimko, Dana Blaškovičová, Dana Moderdovská in 2013 in Slovakia, inspired by similar organizations abroad, with the aim of operating long-term on both the domestic and international scene.
