Ostrava – The development and investment group Maverick has started construction of residential buildings on Cihelní Street near the center of Ostrava, where more than 200 apartments are set to be created. The total investment in the New Cihelní project and the enhancement of the area will exceed one billion crowns. Completion is planned for September 2027. The Maverick group announced this to ČTK in a press release.
"We focus on projects where a quality product, urban transformation of the area, and realistic economics for investors intersect. We see Cihelní as a typical address that will transition from marginal perception to a fully-fledged urban district in a few years, and that is the moment when it makes sense to invest here," stated the developer's representative Vladimír Zuzák.
Cihelní Street is one of the less-utilized parts of the broader center of Ostrava. The area is partially separated from the surrounding development by busy roads and railways. A total of 220 apartments in several residential buildings are planned to be created there. According to the company, the new development will follow the industrial character of the place and create an enclosed residential area with a modern standard of living. In the current phase, 87 apartments are being built in six buildings, with additional buildings in preparation.
"We fully support the transformation of the Cihelní area and are glad for it. It is a broader center of the city that has not yet been utilized as we would have liked, even though its advantageous location is perfectly suited for transformation into a comfortable place to live, both for young people and for those who work in the center of Ostrava," said the mayor's deputy Aleš Boháč (Mayors for Ostrava).
Maverick is a Czech development and investment group based in Prague, which specializes in the construction of residential projects in Prague and its surroundings. In seven years on the market, it has completed projects with a total value of over ten billion crowns.
