Pardubice - The company MHAP is continuing preparations for the construction of a multifunctional hockey arena in Pardubice, which is to be located in the area of Nová Cihelna. The company has published a notice on the environmental impact assessment (EIA), which can be commented on by institutions, affected city and municipal offices, associations, or citizens. This information was obtained by ČTK from a notice on the EIA information system website.

A positive outcome is a condition for future acquisition of a building permit. The investor of the construction is entrepreneur Petr Dědek, who is the majority owner of the hockey club HC Dynamo, through his company. The estimated construction costs are 10.5 billion crowns. The project includes a large and a small arena, a hotel, and a parking garage,

The large arena is to have an elliptical shape, with areas for accommodation and offices concentrated towards the future new residential district. The roof will take the form of a spherical dome, with the eaves varying in height around the perimeter due to its irregular elliptical shape. The center will have a grandstand surrounded by wide corridors for the movement of visitors, and the arena is planned to have 11 above-ground and two underground floors. The hall will serve for hockey games and other sports competitions, but also for cultural events. According to previous information, it should accommodate 22,000 people, making it the largest hockey arena in the world.

The small hall, with three above-ground and two underground floors, will serve as a training arena primarily for juniors and youth training and matches, but also for smaller cultural events or congresses. The building is designed in an organic shape with a dynamic sloping façade.

The hotel will have an oval shape, with an atrium in the center allowing light into the conference lobby. The ground floor plans include the main entrance with a reception, lobby, and conference rooms, while the second above-ground floor is designed for a hotel restaurant, offices, and esports. The upper floors will have hotel rooms of various standards. The hotel will consist of six above-ground and two underground floors.

The parking garage is planned to have two above-ground and two underground floors. The ground floor will include space for commercial premises and access ramps to both basement and above-ground floors. The other floors will contain parking spaces. In total, the entire project for the multifunctional hockey arena in Pardubice anticipates 3,279 parking spaces, partly on the surface.

In addition, there is also a so-called showroom as part of the project. It is conceived as a standalone building within the future residential development of Nová Cihelna. The building is to have three above-ground and one underground floor, with the ground level being public.

The area to the south borders on land where, according to the land use study, new residential construction is to arise. To the north, the northeastern bypass of Pardubice is being built, which will allow access to the sports complex. The document's developers stated that, according to the noise study, the nearest residential areas will not exceed the hygienic noise limits.

The remediation of the waste landfill has already begun in the future construction site. The area of Nová Cihelna contains solid municipal waste from the second half of the last century. The construction of the multifunctional hall and other facilities is expected to start in the second quarter of next year, with completion planned for the third quarter of 2028.
