Valašské Klobouky have started preparing new residential areas

“The subject of the competition is the processing of an urban design proposal for the zoning conditions of a given area for residential function. The authors should address the structure of the street network, land parceling, regulatory conditions for new construction, and other spatial and operational relationships in their competition projects. The location should thus become an integral part of the city and provide full-fledged and quality conditions for future residents,“ said Radek Bařinka, head of the investment department, regarding the intention of the competition.

The competition is public and consists of a single round. The deadline for submitting competition projects is set for June 29, with participants having the right to ask questions until the end of May. All graphic and text materials are prepared for them on the city’s website. “In mid-July, a judging panel composed of representatives of the investor and expert assessors will meet to evaluate the proposals. After its verdict, the trio of the most successful solutions will be determined, and their authors will receive awards of 30, 25, and 20 thousand crowns,” specified the head regarding the amounts for the competition winners. Attention will be paid to the broader urban and architectural contexts of the projects, the connection of the location with the city and landscape, and the quality of the overall building solution, as well as the cost-effectiveness and the possibility of dividing the construction implementation into functional stages.

The announcement of the competition results is expected at the end of July. Provided that a project worthy of realization is selected, the City of Valašské Klobouky will start working on the provision of individual stages of project documentation over the winter and during the year 2013, preparations for the building permit could take place. Based on these steps, the relevant funds for implementation will then be released from the city budget. The preparation of the location above the swimming pool for individual housing construction will take approximately one year, so the first family homes could begin to be built there in 2014. It is expected that up to fifteen parcels could be created in this new part of the city, although this will be further specified in the upcoming study.
