SNG announces a selection procedure for the project and realization of the exhibition in the Pavilion of the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the 11th Biennale of Architecture in Venice

Based on the agreement between NG in Prague and SNG, the organizer of the biennial in 2008 is the Slovak National Gallery.
The theme of the upcoming architecture biennial has not yet been formulated by the organizer, so the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava is announcing a selection process for a free theme and project for the Pavilion of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic at the 11th Biennale of Architecture 2008.

Application conditions:
Both Slovak and foreign architects, visual artists, historians, and theorists in architecture and art can apply for the competition. Individual projects are welcome, as well as any types and forms of group collaboration among Slovak and foreign architects, visual artists, and theorists. The general theme is given by the framework of the 11th Biennale of Architecture, the specific theme and project are open. The submitted projects should present: current topics or significant personalities from the domestic architectural scene, or reflect their connection to the international context, etc. (www.labiennale.org)

Formal requirements for the project:
1. names, addresses, and structured CVs of all authors
2. definition of a specific theme and its justification
3. proposal for the exhibition project (libretto and visual design)
4. approximate budget (SNG contributes to the realization of the project with an amount up to 1,500,000 SK). If the anticipated costs exceed this budget, authors must find additional financing, for example, by seeking and obtaining their own sponsors.

Deadline for project submission:
Complete documentation must be delivered by mail or in person to the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava no later than February 29, 2008, by 12:00 PM in an envelope marked Biennale of Architecture.

Documentation submitted after the deadline, or in incomplete form, will not be considered.

Projects will be evaluated by a professional commission, which will convene in March 2008.
Authors will be notified of the results in writing, and the results will also be published on the gallery's website.
