The appearance of the Municipal Services House in Pelhřimov will emerge from an architectural competition

Pelhřimov - Pelhřimov announced an architectural-urban planning competition for the House of Municipal Services. It will be created by the reconstruction of the department store Vysočina and the adjacent area. According to the mayor of the city, Ladislav Med (ODS), the costs for the public contract for the project will be about 15 million crowns.

"The competition consists of two parts. The subject of the project part is the building of the department store itself and the associated public spaces. And the subject of the conceptual part is the wider area of the City Courtyards, the extension of the department store Vysočina, and the gaps in Solní and Dr. Tyrš streets," Med said.

The competition is being prepared in collaboration with the Czech Chamber of Architects. The city expects competition proposals by May 4 of next year. By the end of June 2026, the results of the competition should be known.

The former department store in Solní street, located 200 meters from Masaryk Square, was purchased by Pelhřimov in 2023 for 48 million crowns. It could serve as a facility for contribution organizations and local associations. For now, it is partially serving commercial purposes.
