Přibyslav - The preparation of documentation for the reconstruction of Bechyňova Square in Přibyslav in the Havlíčkův Brod region will take approximately two years. The city commissioned the work to the studio Gogolák+Grasse, which won the architectural competition. The design work is divided into phases, said Deputy Mayor Michael Omes (for KDU-ČSL) to journalists today. This is a contract worth around ten million crowns.
The city signed the contract with the studio at the end of last year. "Next is the completion of the study and the incorporation of comments," said the deputy mayor. The architects will incorporate feedback from the commission that evaluated the competition proposals into their design. Officials can also express their opinions, and representatives will also be able to raise comments. Omes stated that the square needs reconstruction, particularly its surfaces and the technical networks beneath them.
The architectural competition for the modification of the square was announced by the town hall in the four-thousand strong Přibyslav in the summer of 2023. The results were published in January the year before last. The Prague studio Gogolák+Grasse won in competition with 13 proposals. Preparations were then halted because there was no agreement in the city leadership on whether to proceed with the competition winner or according to a study that the city had commissioned before the competition.
Before starting construction work on the square, the city would like to build a new parking lot for 20 cars next to the home with care services, where it purchased the land. It is also close to the square and the summer swimming pool on Česká Street. Mayor Martin Kamarád (ODS) said that the city is finalizing the project documentation for this parking lot.
The costs for the square's modification were previously estimated by the town hall in the architectural competition at around 150 million crowns.
