Czech Interior 2006

The eleventh year of the competition exhibition Czech Interior (formerly Interior of the Year) was announced by: Design Center of the Czech Republic and the Czech Chamber of Architects with the financial support of Veletrhy Brno, a.s.
Collaborating organizations: Union of Visual Artists of the Czech Republic and Construction Center EDEN 3000.
Media partners: the magazine Architect, Design Trend, and Bulletin DC CZ.
The competition exhibition was focused on the entire area of interior design, i.e., publicly accessible and private interiors and furnishing elements, and was intended for both natural and legal persons.
The condition for participation was to register interiors by February 28, 2006, which were handed over for use in the period from January 1 to December 31, 2005, on the territory of the Czech Republic.
The assessment of the competition exhibition took place in two rounds, with the first jury meeting held on March 9, 2006, in Brno, and the second on March 16, 2006, in Prague. The jury evaluated 43 competition works.
The jury recommended awarding: The main prize Czech Interior 2006 to ing. arch. Zdeněk Fránek for House with Studio - a multifunctional house (residential, studio, offices) in Brno; The UVU CZ Prize will be awarded to ing. arch. Marek Štěpán for the Interior of St. Catherine's Church in Ostrava - Hrabová.
The awards were presented at a ceremonial event on the occasion of the National Design Award on April 11 at the Bethlehem Chapel in Prague. The main prize - a financial reward of 100,000 CZK was donated by Veletrhy Brno, a.s., and the UVU CZ donated a glass object.
The exhibition Czech Interior 2006, along with the exhibition Outstanding Product of the Year 2006, was opened on April 11 at 4 p.m. in the DC CZ gallery in Prague 1, Jungmannova 30 - Mozarteum.
