The subject of the competition is original works - original designs (hereinafter referred to as "design") of two water elements for Dominican Square, specifically in the area in front of St. Michael's Church (part 1 of the design) and in the central part of the square, defined by 4 plane trees and 4 stone benches (part 2 of the design). The design must respect the significance of the place, that is, the historical square with its current function as a gathering and social space in front of the local government headquarters. Among the functional requirements for the design solution are, for example, enhancing the character of the place, cooling the surroundings, air, and the paved surface of the square during the summer months, interaction with visitors to the square, as well as the representation of the city. No forms of solutions are excluded from the designs. Water elements such as fountains or water features can be works of sculpture, architecture, or purely technical solutions, provided that the further requirements of the client are met. The designs must meet the requirement of maintaining artistic quality even in the winter period when the objects will be disconnected from the water medium; it is necessary to respect the requirement for durability and resistance to climatic influences and potential vandalism. The concept will be left to the creativity of the authors.

Furthermore, the authors will propose names for all four plane trees located in the area designated for this water element in the context of the artistic interpretation of the water element in the central part of the square. The proposed names are not part of the artistic design and are not subject to evaluation by the jury. The authors will not hold any copyright on the proposed names; the client reserves the right to independently select names from those proposed by the authors at their discretion.
