The subject of the competition is the architectural design of a multifunctional sports hall, which will be part of the sports complex on U Stadionu street in Nový Jičín. The goal of the architectural competition is to obtain a timeless solution for the sports building that meets the current requirements for architectural and operational quality, sustainability, and economic feasibility. The construction of a multifunctional sports hall is based on the need for covered sports areas, which were confirmed by a survey conducted while processing the Sports Development Plan in Nový Jičín 2018–2025.

Among the other participants in the 2nd phase of the competition, i.e., a maximum of the next three participants whose competition proposal does not receive any award and will not be excluded from the competition by the client during the assessment, a sum of 300,000 CZK will be distributed. The maximum sketching fee for one participant is set at 100,000 CZK. A maximum of six progressing participants will be selected for the second phase.
